On Tuesday morning I heard my condo buzzer go off. I seriously thought I was about to be fined, arrested, or killed as nobody ever rings my buzzer this early. What actually showed up was much nicer!
Madame DeLorean is serious about us playing X-Plane and DCS in VR on the computer she built me.
I’m not at all sure how VR is going to work with these peripherals, but we’re soon going to find out!
One game I can't wait to play in VR is Fallout 4.

Seems like it.
I thought the VR stuff was still very clunky more proof-of-concept expensive / developmental stuff, I’m guessing that’s not the case anymore .

nah, there’s plenty of stuff around but I still feel like it’s incredibly gimmicky... very immersive but it still isolates you in a chamber of sorts.

Interesting. I’ve not used any of it; may have to find someone who has it to try it out. I have a sneaking suspicion it would make me motion sick but I’d like to see it first-hand.

Nice! I’m not really sold on any of the VR headsets yet, but I could definitely use some rudder pedals. They are a bit more than I want to spend (already splurged a bunch on an X-56 HOTAS). Probably should set up a craigslist alert or something.

I’ve been playing Catch and Release some lately. It’s even got virtual beer to drink while you are sitting on the boat.

Once the graphic get better, call me. The games are fun but I can’t undo 4K games. I can’t handle motion based games in VR. They get me all woozy.

And here I am practicing landings at airports with an x-box controller. I discovered it’s pretty good for getting familiar with airports I’ve never been to before. I also discovered that some of the advanced instruments are modeled in X-Plane. A common GPS is the Garmin 430. I found a tutorial on using the 430 in X-Plane!!! The plane I’m flying just had a 430 installed, so now I can practice using it at home and use it for real when I’m flying!
